Bit the bullet bbr turbo fitted
Discussion
Hi
After blowing the bottom end of my mk3 2.0l the question was what to do, fit new standard engine, sell the whole car, but after year's of having it and upgrading suspension, wheels, brakes, antiroll bars, and lots more, and the main thing was, I just love the car. So i contacted bbr and he just happened to have a very low mileage 3.5 engine sitting there. So what the hell stage 2 turbo conversion. Picked it up weekend just gone, with well over 300hp, it is fun, I used to run a tvr chimera with nitrous and on a drag strip that used to embarrass a few cars including a couple of ferrari's and this feels alot faster
It would be great to make contact with other mk3s with a bbr or other turbo conversion

Awesome! What suspension have you gone for?
Struggling to think of a replacement for my Z4M under £20k and this is very appealing with a MK3.5 donor car. Only potential disappointment after the beemer would be the engine\exhaust noise, but everything else fits the bill perfectly.
I've got gaz coilovers all round all fully adjustable height and stiffness, the exhaust note is good, and it pops and bangs so that does make up for it, bbr has also fitted launch control, blips the throttle when you change down also full throttle gear change, so you don't have to take your foot off the throttle Struggling to think of a replacement for my Z4M under £20k and this is very appealing with a MK3.5 donor car. Sounds like a beast, I went the Supercharged route.
How did you manage to blow the original engine? or is the clue in your name?
No I wasn't running nitrous on this car, the name came years ago when I think I was one of the first to run nitrous in a road going Tvr, and the name just stuck but I do have a Hayabusa running it sometimes lol 😁 How did you manage to blow the original engine? or is the clue in your name?

I picked my car up the same weekend as yours. I have to admit I had a nosy at your graph as it was sitting on the coffee table in reception, I was very jealous of the figures!
Have fun chap
Thanks for that Have fun chap
I really think everyone who has the mk3 or newer should save the money, and do a stage 2 conversation, it is such good fun and so enjoyable, the grin factor, with the pops and bangs from the exhaust, is worth it alone. If bbr do the same for the mk4, it would be like having a mini supercar at the fraction of the price
It has to be done... Lol 😁
