So far I have test driven:

S2000 x 2 : decent handling - not as good as mine though - just don't like the engine
968 x 2 : one ste, one pretty good but too 'baggy' and not precise enough
350Z - great engine, decent handling, not convinced on the looks, impractical boot - not quite there as a whole package
Mk3 MX5 : surprisingly good, reasonable poke, steering wheel too big though (easily rectified), not convinced on the looks

Will be testing a Boxster S and hopefully a 996 this weekend.

Problem is, every tiny little input into my 5 gives a response - it feels a part of me. I'm trying to find a car that gives me that feeling but with more grunt and refinement.

But it's just not happening at the moment frown

hehe

I have cash burning a hole in my pocket, I'm just trying to find the right motor to splash it on!!

And don't worry, I'm not bothering private sellers smile

Supercharge the '5.
Believe me, I've considered it. And suspension. And a retrim. And Rota Cups. And... the list goes on hehe

But... I do want something less 'raw' as a daily driver - it's a bit noisy for my daily 20 mile motorway plod of a commute. Plus, it's two and a half years of ownership now - getting itchy feet.

The challenge is finding the balance between raw and refinement. Not got there yet.

Good calls.

E46: Must admit I spent a fair few hours looking at them last night - seems like a lot of car for very little money. Maybe 12-13 for a very good 03/04. Definitely food for thought. scratchchin

968CS: I need air con, so would need a well sorted Sport or Coupe. I'm going to make a point of seeing an expensive 968 before the decision is made, as I'm not sure the 2 I've been in have been the best. Everyone can't be wrong about these cars.

993C2S: Too much dollar really, I'd need 25 minimum. Although I have been looking at C2 and Targas but as much as I love the exterior, the interior is a bit dated. Plus the car will have to live outside cos my bikes get the garage, I'm not sure I'd want to have to do that with a 993 - sacrilige!
