The hood on my car is getting on a bit but looks in OK condition (probably 8 years old). Last summer the edging over the windows gained a few splits on either side. Wasn't leaking per se, but water would tend to pour through the splits and onto the seat when the door was opened by capillary action.

Anyway, last few months it is much worse and I have been considering getting a new hood fitted. Whenever I get into the car the seats are soaked, even through towels on the seats!

What's strange though is that it seems that the water is coming from the rubbery hollow bit covering the frame - I gather that this won't get replaced if I get a new roof?

Is there anything I can do temporarily to improve the situation before plumping for a new roof?

Thanks guys - I gaffer taped the splits, pushed out the metal rails, and used silicone lubricant on the rubber seals, all to no avail frown

I fear it is new roof time...
