Bring Parts Back On Flight?

I have holidaying in the States and may ask him whether he could bring a rear bumper back for me (I missed Ron's container this month). How feasible is it to check-in such a long and chunky item? Is the airline likely to refuse it or just charge a whopping amount?

I'm awaiting his reply . Does he tend to do this often?

Is there likely to be a charge for this? He has check-in baggage.
