So, I test drove one of these today. It fits the bill of comfy cruiser that you can get EVERYTHING in the back of.

I was just wondering if anyone's got any experience of owning one of these - as its a bit different to the usual 4x4's.

Is it hard to get them serviced or repaired? There's an American specialist near me but I don't know if it would be easy to source parts... Or perhaps if vauxhall main dealers cover these?

Any advice much appreicated.

If not will be looking at a cherokee but I kinda fell in love with this one!

Cheers

Parts you can get from either US Automotive in Bedford or online from Rock Auto.

They're pretty basic mechanically so a decent independent can look after it for you.

Wouldn't go anywhere near a Vauxhall dealer with it.
Thanks, I'll remember those companies incase I need them

I have owned one since January, bought it cheap knowing it needed tlc, so far have been able to fix everything myself and U.S. Autos are very handy for parts, mine runs on lpg but not very well, but does save the fuel expense, make sure the 4x4 is working correctly, might be a simple fix though if not, you tube is very handy as lots of bits covered
How are you getting on with it so far? They do look nice and basic!

The one I've seen looks nice, I'm going to go and have a drive over the weekend.

With how basic they are mechanically I'm definitely considering one of these over a Range Rover or the like. The only other contender at the moment for me is a jeep Cherokee but Id prefer something a bit more unusual

What is it, how old is it, how many miles has it done, how much is it?

You'll get a much better idea if you can tell us these.
It's a 1999 Chevrolet blazer 4.3 LS, 95,000 miles, and it's just under 2k

Thank you for the replies.

I've heard the alarms can sometimes be a pain with these, so that's one thing to bare in mind.

Are the generally reliable? I'd imagine the engine is fairly under stressed... It'll only be used for wafting and carrying things.

Plus the price has come down £500 so I'm more or less sold now especially if I haggle a couple of hundred off too!
