Hello all. I'm new to this page, I've been over on the hsv/monaro page for the past 2 years. Just sold up after 2 years of fettling and modifying the monaro, got the LS1 up to 486bhp with all the usual mods (heads, cam remap etc etc) and started looking into getting back into drag racing so started pricing up tubbing it, putting a Dana or ford 9" rear end in and swapping the LS1 for a big block. In the end it worked out so expensive to build what I wanted it was easier to buy something already done which brings me here. I bought a '72 Dodge Demon drag car in October last year and have been slowly working on it to turn it into a road car. So far I've done the obvious things like lights/indicators, a horn, fuel gauge and sender unit in the fuel cell in the boot and general legal stuff, but once I got it MOT'd and out on the road it was a pig to drive. It's got a 451 big block in it so no power steering as it doesn't fit with a big block in the engine bay. It's got a predictably lumpy cam as it was a drag car which made it all or nothing and the Holley carb was jetted/set up for racing so it wouldn't tick over and kept cutting out when I took my foot off the throttle (turns out the carb was knackered and leaking) so now I'm just about to fit a Fitech fuel injection system on it and a big alloy rad to keep things cool. I've got no idea of the power output but it ran an 11.2 without a transbrake and 100bhp of nitrous
