As above really, will be getting engaged to the other half at some point very soon and I mentioned that if i was spending 3 months wages on a ring. The least she could do is buy a watch of my choice? (albeit much less than the ring).

Some people agree and some people think im well, i kNoB!!

Whats your views guys, should this be made rule for blokes or just fobbed off as a joke??

Yes see, this is exactly what I mean. I'm not expecting the lady to go all out and blow a huge amount but i think it's a good alternative to a ring.

In terms of expecting it, i do believe that is wrong an un-chivalrous.

Well to be fair this thread kinda makes me look like an arse. (My fault of course) But the whole point is it would be nice to exchange something before marriage. However, as people have raised:
1: This makes me look like an idiot that's "expecting" something
2: It would be a good alternative to a ring but do men get engagement rings?
3: Combined monies would/should go towards the wedding.

I think the morale is, save up for your own Christopher ward frown

Haha, this doesn't sound right when you read it :/ should have thought before just typing smile. I think seeing it as a potential wedding gift might be nice but I have never "expected" one. I really didn't think typing this one up frown

OOOOO darling that watch (C Ward LTD edition - http://www.christopherward.co.uk/le/c60-cosc-sks.h... is really nice, I may have to buy it myself wink. Wouldn't it be nice if i didn't have to buy it myself and prolong the wedding fund....... (Just to be on top of all the haters - not an expected request)

I.E quite difficult in action

And for God's sake man take her to Paris!!! wink
I thought he liked her?

Paris is a sthole.
sthole or not, it's what she asked for.

Actually, perhaps Bruges isn't such a bad idea biggrin
Hahaha CardShark thanks for linking the two posts wink.

Yeah i think i have decided on Bruges, much better than the French alternative (bear in mind she has never been to France).

Was just a fun idea that turned slightly sour...... oh well moving on smile
