Tissot, Hamilton or C. Ward?
Discussion
Hi guys,
I have only recently started to appreciate a nice watch so im fairly new to this (although i know its all personal choice at the end of the day).
I am being bought a watch for my Birthday in a few weeks and have a few different options, i am able to get all of them for £500~ so i thought i would gauge opinions on these three watches.

Any other recommendations would be welcomed, it will be an everyday watch so needs to be relatively subtle and reliable.

Having a Seamaster I rather like the CW no but the red is a bit much, the Hamilton is nice not something I'd be interested in. I also have a CW C11 which I love, as an everyday watch it's superb and I get some admiring comments which is always nice.

Steinhart do some nice looking pieces...

Have a scout around this website, it's quite good even if a large number or watches on the site are eye wateringly expensive.

That particular Tissot is 48mm diameter! I hope the OP has monstrous wrists I like the look of some Chris Wards, but this one's far too red for me. I'm out.
That just leaves the Hamilton. Though there's lots of good choice at this price range, such as Steinhart

Thank you for the responses guys.
I have decided against the Tissot as it is probably too big for my wrists and i already own a Tissot PRC.
I am also considering the CW in other colours like black, navy or charcoal. What are peoples experiences with quality etc as although i can get a feel for the Hamilton in a store the CW is online only.
Thanks.

I have a C60 with the charcoal bezel. I love it and am really pleased with the looks and quality, it is a nice size and weight. I have worn a Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage Red and personally I think the C60 looks better and feels sturdier and better quality (particularly the screw in crown), this is obviously a purely personal opinion though.
This money is straying into entry-level Stowa territory. Stowa has a reputation for very high quality. Check out the Stowa Seatime, Stowa Prodiver and others in the Stowa range. I imagine they would be a step up from Steinhart / Chris Ward in terms of build quality.

I know it's fashionable but to me, rather than being a nice size, I'd say that watch completely swamps your wrist. Across the lugs it's as broad as your wrist with the strap dropping straight off at 90 degrees rather than going around. RichB, you're entitled to your opinion obviously but I didn't buy that size of watch because of "fashion". I bought it because I wanted an auto diver watch, liked the looks and could justify the price. I do have fairly skinny wrists but it imo it doesn't look or feel too big on me in person. I have tried on watches in the past that have been way too big. My wrist size is a large reason I couldn't get away with wearing lots of watch brands/models.
Anyway off topic now but thanks for your comments.
