Is this a good price? Or would you recommend something else?

I used to have an original Heuer - it was my Fathers watch, he was an Army Diver and it was quite nice. I spent some money getting it restored - and to cut a long story short it was stolen by a crazy ex girlfriend. I've decided to treat myself to something nice - I've currently got my old Army G-Shock, and also a watch that I use as a heart rate monitor. So I'm not exactly good at this.
I'm not flash, but do want something a bit nice. Something which I can take care off and keep for a long time. I also want something I can be a little proud off if that doesn't sounds a bit soft. I won't be reselling it, but I don't want to pay well over the odds either.
So is that good? Or could I do better for my money?

Thanks yeti - that was the sort of advice I was after.
I am cautious about going second hand. As watches really aren't my thing, and I wouldn't know if I was buying the real deal or something sold for £10 in turkey. Also whilst I really don't mind if it's second hand - I don't want something all scratched and battered. Small imperfections are fine - but this is meant to be a nice watch.
I'll have a look at other brands. I was really thinking either Omega or Tag as they seemed like the best "nice" watches in my budget.
All the movement stuff wen't straight over my head - but I'll take your word for it.
