Indeed I was offered 4K cash for mine or 4300 trade in without any effort or prompting. Wouldn't be taking it but that offer of 2 and a half was little more than an attempt at daylight robbery.Motorrad said:

That is an amazingly high trade value ( unless maybe traded against a much higher value item)
Asking price in dealers here in Singapore for a 2nd hand Seadweller is around 3500 -3600 GBP .... Before haggling!
Suggests trade value here is well under 3,000
I should buy up every Seadweller here and bring to the UK
I thought brand new SD4000s were <5500 GBP from a dealer ?? ( they are here...)
16600s are selling for 5.5K as seen hereAsking price in dealers here in Singapore for a 2nd hand Seadweller is around 3500 -3600 GBP .... Before haggling!

Last of the line serials like mine seem to be more popular for some reason.
Going back to topic, i put the watch in the sink for 30mins and gave a good clean with some soap and soft brush and the bezel is fine.

well i took the watch back into Mappin&Webb and they offered 2300 against the new SD4000. I think they are taking the piss but i also think that an offer of 4K is a bit high.
How come they dropped £300? 2300 is laughable.Fwiw i took my p serial 16600 to a local jeweller who offered 3300, i put it on Ebay and had an offer of 3500, but not letting it go at that, i'll hang on to it for now.
