My family have very kindly offered to buy me a iwatch for my 40th birthday. It is not that I would not like one, but the fact it will be worthless and out of date in 5 years or less.

I would love a nice watch, more than happy with used for around £600. Any suggestions? I like classic designs, nothing too flashy.

Thanks for the replies. War Pig, I like both of those. I will take a further look into them.

Thanks so much for that. I realy like the Omega Seamaster, that is definately going on the short list. Although the date is not in english.

So I decided to stretch the budget a bit and got this for £775. Should arrive next week. I have always wanted an Omega so very excited about getting it. I know some may think it s a bit generic but I like it !

I bought it from ebay - got the seller down to £775 plus £10 postage

It has just arrived and I am chuffed to bits with it. No marks on the glass, couple of very minor markes on the blue outside dial and the bottom of the clasp has scratches on it where it has been used but that is OK, its a 15 year old watch. It fits like a glove. The strap is a bit grubby and needs a good clean, should I use one of those high frequency cleaners, think my brother has one.
