whats the spread on a used Rolex GMT 2
Discussion
I have a 1998 GMT 2 (black/red Bezel)
Bought by me in the states (and stung for taxes at the time..) 16 years ago and worn pretty much every day since (other than for the past 2 years when it has sat on my desk, except for the odd occasion), still have boxes, tags, books etc
They are advertised by specialists (same year, model etc) for just over £4K ...what would the buy price from these dealers likely to be ??
I expect it to be significantly less , as they need to warrant, polish and make a profit, but not sure how much....is it £500 or £1k less
I want to be armed with some knowledge before I give them a call....
cheers

Condition is very good, loads of fine marks from a decade and half of wearing, last serviced 10 years ago (inc boxes, books, tags etc)
ooh £2k to £2.5k...even at the top end of that valuation I think it will stay on my desk, I was hoping for dealers to be working on a 50% mark up...so giving me £3k

That's a pretty fair price.
It all depends on what you're going to do with the cash? Are you going to use it for something urgent or buy another watch? Do you have any children that would appreciate having a watch passed to them?
Not decided if I am going to sell, if I do I will do the right thing It all depends on what you're going to do with the cash? Are you going to use it for something urgent or buy another watch? Do you have any children that would appreciate having a watch passed to them?
It will go to top up the 12c/gallardo fund
