I've been on the waiting list for a Rolex Daytona for sometime and finally I got a call not last Saturday, but the Saturday before to let me know there was one in stock, i promptly collect it.

I have had it for 9 days, on wearing it for the first time today I have noticed there is a defect on the bezel in the form of a small scratch, it is very small but it's something i keep noticing.

Has anyone had this experience with a new watch and if so, what do you think the jeweler will say when I try and return it tomorrow?

Cheers.
Dean

You've had it 9 days, granted not worn, but only now noticed a scratch.
The AD will either take it back and polish it out (if not too deep) or more than likely do nothing under the assumption that you scratched it during over week of ownership.
If it's the SS model the bezel is a scratch magnet, I've not seen one worn that didn't have a few hairlines in it.
I had one for 4 years and ended up selling it off, as the fine marks just irritated me

As can bee seen here in my really bad photo
Thank you, you are exactly right, they have said it could not have been scratched before I had it, as it comes vacuum packed before it is sold, they have sent it off to have the scratch to be polished out as a goodwill gesture.

The marks are going to annoy me as well, always wanted one of these and now it's put me off
