As there are a lot of people in the "know" here, what is the consensus on Breitling watches? I've seen a couple of models that I like but having never owned one before, I'd like to hear people's views on whether they're worth the money?

Here are the two I've found. Any thoughts on which looks the best?

Personally, I can't stand BrightBling but each to their own.
Yes, I know what you mean. The two above stood out but I'm wondering if there are a bit garish.

I'm still deciding whether to go back to my original idea of the Heuer Carrera below:

I have to say the Carrera looks far classier.
As per the previous poster BrightBling (love the name!) are just too garish for my tastes but OP go with what you like - its your watch.

For a slightly different suggestion how about this?

I really like that! I don't know a great deal about Chopard but I'll have to research the brand a bit more!

I know there isn't a lot of love on here for TAG Heuer, but that one you're looking at is, in my opinion, a beautiful watch. The Breitlings, on the other hand, are not my cup of tea at all and already look dated. But it's your money and you should spend it on whichever one you like most.
I agree. I've had my eye on that Tag for a while and it's still my favourite.

I was born in Oldham and have a Tag for special occasions. I bought an IWC for everyday use recently to make sure the Tag stays in perfect condition.

That's right, everyday IWC and special occasion Tag. Mr Gould's head might have just blown up.
I had a Tag Monaco that I loved and it never missed a beat. I only sold it as being square, it wasn't the most practical of pieces to wear on a daily basis.
