Depends on a few things, mainly:

-what else do you have in your collection? This will be my first venture into more expensive watches, my most expensive prior to this is an Omega Seamaster

-will it be a daily wearer? It will be worn regularly, I live in London so depending on which part I may be travelling through will be a factor

-sports watch/dress/either? I prefer a sports watch/chronograph.

-does the movement matter to you- do you want something with an interesting complication? No

If you want a sports watch and want something other than a Rolex go for a AP royal oak offshore- still can get a ss watch for 10K. Retail today on current model new is around 20k, so will hold value well. Stunning watch, you just need to try one on and it's levels up in quality compared with a daytona.

If you want something more dressy look into a date just II- can be worn daily will hold value, wears a lot bigger than a daytona and is a very nice piece for quite a bit less than a Daytona too- 6k-6.5k for a mint 41 mm version.

For something more interesting/complicated- Jaeger Lecoultre Master Calendar Moon Phase. Around 5k-5.5k, lovely watch, fantastic movement and will leave you with quite a bit left for something else too.

Just one caveat, I have chunky wrists so anything below 43/44 mm doesn't look good.

are you sure ?, watches have not been this big for that long, it's a new trend these clown watch's

I am 6.75 wrist, yes maybe a small wrist but can wear a 34/36mm watch no issue and it looks great.

most wrist shots in this forum look , well bloody stupid imo lol I don't get this massive size watch trend, it has no class and is a bit "look at me" but that's the same with every thing today "bigger is better" and all that.

The AP shot and the Omega Shot while nice to look at, do look a bit daft on the wrist imo.
and do have that "look at me " shout about them !

but then you can never buy class :-)

7 3/4 inch wrist size, love the daytona chrono but it would look silly, not in favour of clown watches but the bare minimum would have to be Omega SM size!

Like the Omega/TH and JLC keep the suggestions coming smile

Like the seiko as well but cannot understand why they didn't create a luxury version of their brand, having a watch range that goes from £20 to £1000s is not good marketing?

At this point in time the DeepSea Sea Dweller, is grabbing my attention, would it drop much in value once bought?

Not really my cup of, watches that have caught my eye are the IWC Portuguese, DSSD, Daytona but too small, or the Superocean Heritage Chronograph 46 Steel
