Anybody own one of these? Care to share an opinion?

The designs are great, the new 1939 is especially lovely. I understand they're a cheap quartz movement but at $220 one can't complain too much.

In short, I want one and am looking for an excuse.

To be honest the designs don't seem to be fully resolved. Repeating the same number on concentric rings (orange/black one) = pointless. The one in the wrist shot I can't quite understand...may be me being dumb but is that dial even functional? These are fashion items I guess...and that's fine but the watches aren't interesting to me personally.
See, I disagree on the simple 'fashion items' argument. Having read about the guy and what he's doing it seems like there's a bit more substance do the designs than that. I like this idea of style from an era with no fuss wear-everyday usability.

The 1939 you mention, its a tachymetre and telemetre which, assuming the chrono hand moves, would be functional. This 1930s AP shows a bit of what he's getting at I guess.
