Hi All,

I spent last week in Turkey and was absolutely staggered by how good some of the fake watches were - sapphire crystal glass, all chronos working, nice smooth automatic movements. Some of them were very nice watches in their own right! I was almost tempted to buy one or two lesser known watches (U-Boat for example) as they were very nice. I resisted the urge though - they were actually quite expensive, and I didn't like the idea of buying a fake!

One of the funniest things I heard was on a market stall, the vendor shouting at the top of his lungs "100% genuine fakes" wink

Hmm, good until the bezel or numbers fall off, the chrome on the bracelet wears off, or they start losing 5 mins a day. Or until you get them wet and they fill up faster than the Titanic.
Very possibly. I hadn't appreciated just good the fakers had become. Judging by the prices that 'no box, no papers' watches fetch on eBay, maybe others don't realise either!

Yeah sapphire crystal glass sounds different to normal glass. One shop owner complimented me on what a good copy my Tag F1 was - I'd probably have been flattered, except that it's not fake! Lol wink
