Hi all, I'm new to this particular forum, but that's only because I've never had a watch that's worth talking about!

I came back to the family home for Christmas today, my old room had been cleared/tidied by my Mum and Brother. My Brother presented me a watch and said it must be mine (no one else in the house even wears a watch!), I accepted and later tonight looked a little closer and noticed the Breitling mark upon it.

It's not a new looking watch, I can only presume that it must have been left here from the times we did bed and breakfast many many years ago.

I was wondering if the collective knowledge of this forum could help me identify its model, age, and whether it's a genuine or not. The photo below is a horrible quality from my phone, but tomorrow I should be able to get a decent one posted hopefully, I'm posting this now though because I'm very intrigued! I'm doubting very much that it is a genuine though.

Here's a brief description...

- it is a self winder, it started going as soon as I put it on (also can hear it wind if I shake it near my ear!)
- the second hand ticks has about 4 or 5 ticks per second
- has one 'winder' to alter the time/date of month
- has two other buttons which I've not yet sussed out
- has a date 'window' between the 4 and 5
- has a one way rotating bezel
- has 3 smaller dials, not sure if they move or not, or how to make them do so
- Breitling logo appears to be in a gold slightly raised metal on the face

Sure a decent photo would help, but all I can supply right now is the one below unfortunately.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

I'll get a decent quality photo up soon, but a little internet research has me 95% positive that it's not a real one unfortunately.

Firstly, the two buttons on the side seem to do nothing at all. Also, there is only one small Breitling mark on the bracelet. I also think it should have a serial number on the case. From the photos I've seen of other Breitlings, this just doesn't seem to have the fine details that they do, although I've not yet found the exact model, or even managed to guess the age, at a guess though I'd say 80s.

I'll whip the back off it later (we also used to have a jewellery shop so got all the gear!) and see what's what. That should clear things up.

Cheers for the replies chaps, I'll come back with more shortly.

Update: I've just found a great website called breitlingsource.com, which has every model. I've been through a few pictures and I'm fairy sure it's a 'Chrono Cockpit (Early)', says it was produced in the mid 90s. Right then, off with the back of it!

One thing that it should do is have the "running seconds" on one of the subdials, and the main second hand only runs with the chrono function
Well that pretty much is the final nail in the coffin! Main second hand runs as a normal second hand, sub dials don't appear to be doing a lot at all.
