Buying a house around here

I currently live in MK and work in London, the Mrs works in MK. I get the train, she drives.
We're looking to move in the next year or so and we're looking for a good size 4 bed detached with a double garage, budget is around £400k.
Current thoughts are to stay in MK, but that makes the garage requirement tricky, or to look to Bedford or Northampton.
Am I missing anywhere I should also be looking, to get what we are after?

This is in Clapham near Bedford.
I also think you'd get a better response in the homes and gardens section.
Bit of a PITA for the station though as traffic is very congested in Bedford around peak times. This is in Clapham near Bedford.
