Do you know of and can you recommend any on-road performance driving courses? I started a course with Ride-Drive a few years ago, but the fuel pump on my car failed and if your car breaks down you still have to pay, because the trainer has given up his time, so that is fair enough.

I am shortly to start providing passenger experiences for a charity and although I am comfortable driving my car, a bit of training would probably be a good idea and Ride-Drive has stopped. I am in Cambridgeshire. Any suggestions?

I bet the cost of insurance will be frightning!
No - because it is only taking someone out on the road, it is the same as taking a friend, so they say no increase.

Thanks for the tips Zippee. No I haven't joined the Bears (who I didn't know about), but I am to offer rides for a newish charity in the Cambridge area called 'Something to look forward to', which provides treats for people with cancer and their families.

Ooh! Got any more details? I'm only in St Neots and having had family members suffer recently from the big C it's a charity I like to support.
See http://www.somethingtolookforwardto.org.uk/ There is a page on which you can suggest donations. What car(s) do you have?

Got very lucky - got a free day's driving tuition with RegLocal in win on Wednesday! Not very local to me though, but I'll make a weekend of it.
