Landyacht - blimey.
Discussion
I have had a vague interest in landyachting for years but have never got around to giving it a go - until now. I had a quick blast in a two seater in a fair bit of wind and have to say that it was pretty mindblowing.
Having spent many years sailing boats I assumed that a landyacht would just trundle where you pointed it while you sheeted in and out but this thing was alive with feedback from the get-go. There were all the sensations you expect from a performance car; impressive acceleration, face distorting lateral g and humungous opposite lock slides as the thing fought for grip all the time. I don't think I have ever been so fast in something so minimal (and something with no brakes whatsoever).
As soon as it rolled to a stop I was working out how to persuade my other half that I needed one but that wasn't necessary - as soon as she had a go she announced that we must buy one 'immediately'. So, is there anyone on PH into these things?
