hi, always wanted to do a boat, so here it is! ive built crossers, cars, we built a r6 quad bike and lots of other things, time to move onto the sea biggrin my friend has this before us, the back where the engine sits, was rotton the marine ply was far gone, the fiberglass was ruined, the floor was knackered, few bits and bobs but shouldnt be to much trouble......anyway pics

the floor finished. no before pics

the back, doubled up marine ply and 3 layers of fibreglass - plenty strong

new drain hole drilled

seats..being retrimmed black and white by my good old mother

old side panels - new pieces cut out

sorted the trailer and rust out

[URL=http://s948.photobucket.com/user/Clarkson22/media/null-23.jpg.html]

thanks lads, it was just sitting away in my mates garden , we offered him 150 and took it, bought another engine today from Birmingham , a yamaha 60 , that was 1000 , in total with paint and everything else it stands me and my friend £1698 which isn't to bad smile anyway sprayed boat last week , and got some stuff done today.
been wet sanded mate came round and buffed it all up

marine carpet in got lucky and got 7m squared for 18.50 new!!

my mums made up some covers with her magical sowing machine

well the inside was just waiting for the seats, so we borrowed my mates dads 4hp outboard and set sail with 4 of us in for and hour and half....it sank, JOKING it was fine let in a small amount of water, from a few screw holes from the trim that were not completely sealed, bilge pump sorted that , got it back and sealed it again next day smile

anyway picked this up today it runs mint and selects gears perfect smile manual gas assisted tilt but its easy enough , will update to power trim come winter

steering sorted , gonna go get some bolts monday and clamp screws, a metal plate to mount it on, and all plugged in

battery secured

bilge pump fiber glassed down, going to have that on a flip switch and route the hose tomorrow, and buy another one as a back up just incase ha!

fuel tank secured

going to re-spray this at some point white and get new stickers

and 2 seats complete

anyway ill update this soon and hopefully get a video Monday or Tuesday of it in action thanks for reading

Cheers mate ,yes we did what a messy job, were going to re-spray it agin come winter, and as for th kill cord , yes I know I have one, I intend to use it but seen as the engine isn't mounted and the boat is in the garden I see no need to use it yet? I presume , you think ill leave it attached to the key? I'm not retarded....

Lol ok makes sense?? It's far from clapped out, I guess that goes for all the car restorers out there who buy old rust buckets and turn them into something nice.

Anyway wired a switch in for bilge pump and tucked all the wires away neatly will get some pics up later for anyway who cares smile

well time to update the speedboat! it hasnt been out since summer of 2015 my son was born in feb 2016 and it has been sat in my garden since 2015 my son is now 2 and its time to get it back on the water , the trailer suspension arms were shot so new pair ordered with hubs and wheels , new jockey wheel , the rollers or polybush and still rotate freely so there fine,.....the boat it was full of crap , so we cleaned it all out and had a look at the electrics, ended up re-wiring everything in one weekend , cleaned all the carbs, add some fuel and it started first time, but there was a problem....water wasn't coming from the tell tale hole and that wasnt good, attempted to get gearbox off , snapped 5 out of 5 bolts , got thermostat off and the impeller was missing most its fins, so new everything for the gearbox all seals , welded nuts to the snapped bolts on the main body and managed to get them all out, tapped the threads and thats were we are today, we managed to fit the trailer suspension today, and i fitted my tow bar on the shed, im going to wire the electrics tomorrow and hopefully the gearbox bolts arrive monday and the jockey wheel for its sea test next weekend smile any way pictures!!!

Well just thought I'd update this 2 years ago we put gearbox back on and went out for the remainder f summer and it got dumped at my mums while we moved house and stayed there till a few weeks ago ,
Last time it was on water 2 years ago

We decided to send it down and repaint it and sort the silly windscreen out, I've re done all the wiring ...again and put new trim and tilt relays on and that all works again just been sanding down ready for paint
Sanded the bottom for anti foul paint

Top side sanding nearly done

Going for a blue metallic for the top , going to order some thin plexiglass for the windscreen ,mine and my pals kids are abit older now so they want to come along on the ride aswell!!

Nearly there!!!
Just a picture of how we painted the u underside and trailer got a lick of paint

Made a windscreen - miles better than the last just need to smooth edges off

Decided to paint engine lid and engine

Base coat on marine blue metallic

This is where it became fun my clear coat gun decided to play up and was just splattering it all over , must not of cleaned properly last time! Lesson learnt , with clear splattered I poured the clear coat in a cup got a decent brush and brushed it on it turned out ok some brush lines but nothing a wet sand wont sort out. Need a new gun though!

Base coat on the engine , forgetting my gun was fked ....yep out came the brush and 2k

Not to bad for brush but still some brush Marks still nothing a wet sand wont sort

Wet sanded the lid from 1200 1800 2400 3200 4000
And hand polished it I couldn't keep it still with the rotary lol

Cutting compound by hand

Top half polished by hand

Just need to finish the sides with polish as I gave up my arms hurt...I mean kids had to go bed !

Not bad need to wet sand and polish the engine and paint the boat and we can go out!!!!!!!
