I have a couple of unused 33g life jacket CO2 canisters that have been replaced as they're out of date. What's the best way to dispose of them? I assume I shouldn't just lob them in the bin?!

These aren't actually from my jackets - I borrowed a couple from a mate that were out of date so just swapped the out of date bits. In the past, I've just left them at the chandlery but walked out with them this time.

I guess I should inflate a jacket and make sure they hold their air overnight.

The lifejacket ones do look similar to the ones I have in an emergency motorcyle puncture repair kit.

I thought it was standard practice to weigh the old cylinders to check if there had been any leakage, and if they were not corroded, they were OK to use? (assuming for "personal use")
For the cost to replace it, I'm not going to risk it...at least not in my jacket wink
