I sent the link to a friend and it turned out he's actually done it!

On reflection I guess it's the modern equivalent of the 1930s Empire flying boats.

Surprised that the suites appear to be open at the top - surely conversations, farts etc would be heard next door?

Well it did have foie gras in it... but it wouldn't have been my choice I agree.

Are such tickets ever discounted? At 3 or 4k it starts to look appealing as a once in a while type thing.
Well, I think the article said 3/4 of the suites were empty, so maybe they'd prefer £4K than £0K - better ask them!

I was upgraded by a friend, after his close security idiot shot me by accident, to an Emirates "Suite"...
Not upgraded to the "Heaven" Suite then!

I just don't get it really. Even if I was super loaded, I could think of many better ways to spend 23 grand.
On the contrary, if you're super loaded, it costs no more than £2.30 in comparative terms. Everything is effectively free... as I realised in Brunei.
