2x Air India A330s at EGDX St Athan
Discussion
There's an engineering company that operates out of "St Athans' " (textbook Welsh). They've had A320s and 737s in there before. I think it has something to do with Bruce Dickinson, but I might be getting my wires crossed there. A long way to come for a radar-to-visual approach with today's weather!

There's a particularly nasty AD due in January for A330's that involves taking the tails off, I would not be surprised if this was something to do with that. There aren't that many places you'd want to let do that sort of work.
It always makes me laugh when people think that because it involves large bits of aircraft it must be a complicated job!To be fair you may well be correct if you've read the AD, but in my experience taking large bit isn't more complex or difficult than day to day maintenance.

I'll ignore the usual usual PH rubbish and just say, I know exactly what I'm doing in this case thanks, since I'm supposedly in charge of the programme that happens to include these pain in the arse a/c. Let's just say that as we approached the limit of 60T on removing the bolts and the next choice was getting the drills out, then I'll take your slightly annoying post and say "cheers for that, but we're not muppets."
Well. They're still there. I pass the airfield on the train every week on my way to college. They move from time to time, but the two aircraft still have their Air India decals on and they havn't gone inside a hanger for repair. Air Cyprus have 4/5 aircraft parked up since they went into administation. But Air India are still flying good, so it's can't be because of money trouble. Also there is a large Southern Air from the USA parked up there too. No idea why they are there tbh.

Don't blame you. Is it this one?Let's just say that as we approached the limit of 60T on removing the bolts and the next choice was getting the drills out, then I'll take your slightly annoying post and say "cheers for that, but we're not muppets."

They'll send it wherever they feel is cheapest and has the certification Rights to complete the job.I don't think they judge it by who is the friendliest outfit to pay the millions of pounds to.
I'm guessing you are an office bod rather than a spanner monkey?
