Heard a Big Prop Noise Last Night......

So I'd just got into bed last night when I heard a loud noise of a prop plane, but it just kept getting louder and louder so I fired up my phone only to find I had an Antonov AN-12 flying over my house. I'm not that up on my planes but it's certainly not a plane I've seen in the UK before:

The flight path has is dissapearing somewhere South of Greece, I wonder where it was off to? Wish it had been light so I could have seen it.

I guess if you're in the business you must see them quite a bit but if you're a mildly nerdy plane bore like me then it's all very exciting

Heard the same noise again a couple of nights ago and low and behold, it was this:



Looks like they are frequent visitors to our shores.

Yeah I keep hearing the flight daily(ish). I'm guessing this can't be particularly cheap way of shipping freight as it's such an old inefficient aircraft, I wonder what it could be shipping daily?

Hmmm could have answered my own question, it could be this or possibly could be aid for Ebola or another African crisis?
