Royal International Air Tattoo 2015
Discussion
Want to visit this year to Royal International Air Tattoo 2015 and thinking of going Friday. It says on the website there are 4 hrs of flying instead of weekend 8hrs but hopefully will be a bit quieter? Also want to take my 3 and half year old twins or should I leave them at home? Would they need ear protectors?

All the hotels in the area including Swindon are taken up by the display teams. Get there before 7 as the traffic is a nightmare a friend aimed for 9am last year and I was meeting him on the gate with his passes, 11:30 he arrived due to traffic!
Thanks for the heads up, looks like I will be bunging the kids in the car at 6am and getting there uber early then. Going tomorrow so looking forward to it.Well the weather was typically British with a mixture of rain, heavy rain and sun, but mostly cloudy. I thought it was quite quiet today, could talk to most people and everyone was very chilled.
Managed to look inside the Chinnock which is my favorite. Our 3.5 year old twins enjoyed their first major airshow.
Left Cardiff at 7am and got to site at 9am even with a kids pee stop between so not much traffic, and fine getting home too.

Although it was really all about the Vulcan for me, I was really impressed with the A400 display. That thing is agile in a way that it really shouldn't be!
I agree, mental flying ability, at one point I thought they where going to do a loop the loop.Although I still loved the Chinook display, every time I see them I'm amazed at what they can do, the speed of the vertical lift was incredible. I've got a Heli pilots licence and flown in loads of helis but these things are the nuts.

It's a "CHINOOK" - not a "Chinock". The original "Chinook" is an American Indian name for a wind that blows over North America.
We all know that a "Chinock" is a former Welsh leader of the Labour Party
Fair enough, edited my post for spelling mistake, still an amazing machine though. We all know that a "Chinock" is a former Welsh leader of the Labour Party
