Who's going then? Honestly, the lineup so far is probably the best one we've had in years. Seems to get better every year. 2017 is also USAF anniversary so should be a cracker next year too!

I'll be there on the Sunday, not been for a couple of years but yeah the lineup looks good this year, looking forward to it!

I've not been on a Sunday before but had to this year as I'm working on the Saturday, does anyone know if i'll miss out on anything by going just on the Sunday?
No you shouldn't do mate, unless something breaks down on the Saturday that is irreparable, or torrential downpour, everything should be relatively the same!

Yup, I'll be there on Friday and Saturday with my son.
It's going to be his first airshow (but he doesn't know yet).
What a fantastic airshow to be his first, although might be setting the bar a bit high as everything after this won't be as good winklaugh

It's a shame the Textron Scorpian isnt flying, would be a great opportunity for them to build on the good test feedback from the UK last year. I think its a brilliant concept and hope it is a success

Strange looking thing that, fingers crossed for next year!

I dunno why I haven't camped yet, RIAT is probably my favourite event of the entire year, might consider it next year.

unfortunately we don't have many chances -or no chances at all I'd rather say- to see such a show down here. You can get the Frecce Tricolori and maybe the Typhoon or Tornado doing a display, but that's it. There's usually no way to get anywhere near the planes as at RIAT.
As we're doing the trip to UK, it's worth doing it for good smile
If you can get to see the tornado that's pretty good going! That thing is an extremely rare sight at airshows in the uk these days! frown

I think the only one still performing in Italy is the one belonging to the Reparto Sperimentale Volo in Pratica di Mare (Rome).
I saw it last time at RIAT2014, last year I didn't go to any airshow. I truly hope it will keep flying.
Saying that, they had 3 tornados do 3 flypasts at RIAT 2015!

I'm going.

Working airside again so, as for the last couple of years, I get an uninterrupted view of the runway.

So I get paid to watch the aircraft arrive on Thursday, display for the three days, leave on Monday & I get to go to the after-show 'hangar party!!!!'.

Can't wait.
You sir, are one lucky SoaB! hehe

Isn't there an F-4E Phantom from Greece coming? Unfortunately only on static display though.
Yeah there is. I'd love to see it come in on arrivals day but too far for me.

I'd love to go to Fairford again. Not been since about 1995! I'm not keen on the crowds.

My folks live in a small village that used to see some of the arrivals coming in. Was lucky enough last year to see two B-2s fly over.
It's closed now but there was a farm that people used to watched the show from, a lot less crowded, you've been missing out!

I've been for the past 5 or 6 years and not once encountered any traffic whatsoever. We just make sure to arrive bright and early (around 30 minutes before gates open), drive right in, then normally leave a little while before the end of the displays...drive straight out.

I do the same with the Festival of Speed, lovely and quiet at 7am on a Friday smile
Ditto. Get there at 7:30. Easy in. Leave at end of displays and it's easy out too. Very well managed.
