New 6 part series starting this Thursday (21st) about steam trains, birth of railways, how they reshaped the country etc.
8pm on BBC2 I think.

I recognised the Victorian looking lady, let's hope it's worth watching!

I'm enjoying it too, some of the facts are amazing - like how many sleepers and crushed stone needed per mile of track etc.
It's easy to be romantic about it and wish you could go back in time to be there, but heck those were hard times.
