Is there anywhere in the South London/Surrey/Kent area where helicopters take off fairly regularly, and can be seen relatively close up.

For a kid who is too young to take a trip on one but loves seeing them pass by.

Ta.

Youtube?
Yup, everyday, multiple times.

Picks up his helicopter toy, holds it aloft, makes pretend noises and points to laptop demanding its turned on. Worried it's bad for his eyes.

Thanks fellas, Battersea or Redhill will be perfect. Quick search indicates the hotel next to battersea one has balconies overlooking so may get afternoon tea for his mum too, kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak!

The Banyan? Those balconies (facing the river) are for 2 floor suites with a rack rate of £1200 per night

Thanks for all the replies, very much appreciated. He is around 16 months old, didn't even think of taking him too close be honest, as worried about effect on hearing. I remember seeing a pic of Prince George wearing ear protectors at Farnborough recently.

GreigR, very intrigued at your generous offer, sending a pm. Thanks

Many thanks, wasn't expecting so much help when I started this thread.

Week is tougher as we both work and he is with the childminder, will be in touch with yourself and Greig when can arrange some time to travel over, and in the meantime check out the other options on the weekend.

Update: Still haven't been to see any. However his toy collection has increased.

This was supposed to be his xmas present, but he was sick on the weekend and since he is too young to understand xmas, he got it early.

When I first took it out and flew it, he was terrified hehe so packed it back up thinking he was too young, A hour later he wanted it again and is now happily flying(crashing) it into ceiling and walls.

Impressed how the product has stood up to the abuse so far considering it was only £20 (apologies to any small kids in China making them for pennies).

Nope- otherwise would have been a drone with an amazing video camera on it smile

Wasn't a planned purchase as such, I was in a Lidl and it was one of their weekly offers. Not so much for him to fly as such, he can't yet co-ordinate the up/down analogue stick on the left with the turn/back/forward on the right, it was more a chance to see 'that thing up in the sky' up close and moving in the air around him. His two other helicopter toys are more imaginative play.
