As there are always posts about planes etc I thought I would show the end for Vulcan XL391 that has stood at the enterence to Blackpool airport for the last 20years. Its been sold for scrap for £4000 and will be replaced with a car park.

As at 2pm today

What a shame -

A bloke won this on e-bay last year but it was gonna cost him about £20K to transport it back to his pub garden, more than he actually paid for the plane.

It was going to go to court because he decided he couldn't afford the move but I don't know what the outcome was.

Yep he won it for about £15,000 (without looking at it), then found that it was going to cost more than he bid to get it moved. Went to court as he was also being charged rent for it as it was not moved. Plane then back to original owner and put back up for sale.

from what i've read on other forums, the aircraft was in a very poor state, and there was some talk of not being allowed underneath it for fear of it collapsing on your head!.....not sure how true that is, but it undoubtedly was in very poor condition.

As others have said, it was in a very bad way. The fencing around it did allow you to walk underneath one of the wings until about 2-3 years ago, even then there were bits that didn't look like they were held on by much.
