OK so as I sort of won the McDonalds' challenge here is the next DTP Takeaway Challenge.

Keeping to budget and ubiquity of take away the challenge is:

2 x Dominoes large pizzas within 50 minutes. The pizza must be listed as having at least 215 calories per slice so no cheating by going for basic cheese and tomato.

see http://www.takeafreshlook.co.uk/downloads/Pizzas-N... for details.
Extra points for any side orders / garlic bread consumption.

Not sure I can do it myself but will have a go Tuesday evening.

Tip, they are always BOGOF if you collect.

Okay over 215 then, need some way to week out vegetarians.......

see http://www.takeafreshlook.co.uk/downloads/Pizzas-N... for details.

I was looking at out of date info when setting the challenge, the above is linked to from Dominoes web site so should be accurate.

Reckon easy do pizza #1 in 25 minutes but another in the same time.....confused
yes The 2nd pizza is going to be painful!
I have got a few slices into the second pizza before and had to stop. I think the strategy is probably to get the first one down in 10 mins or less, then 30 mins rest then the second pizza.

Tried it already then!?

I'll not be ordering the "large dominator". Never know what you might end up with. yikes
I tried it in the past in a non-challenge situation so no time limit. Reckon faster will get more food down.

Ah, to avoid the wall that Adam Richman talks about.
Exactly. Last year I did a 72Oz steak in 1 hour challenge and had the steak gone in 20 mins, the 'trimmings' took 30 mins more and were hard going.

I'll give this a go. Is it bonus points for crusts or is that a standard part of the challenge?
Crusts are part of the challenge as they are part of the Pizza

Can I do two large Pizza hut pizzas, so long as its a min of 4000 cal?
It would be better if everyone stuck to the same pizza provider.

Coming late to this game how are the challenges policed, is it let it run its natural course then see who was fastest or first past the post ?

I am going to try tomorrow evening but don't think it is on to win your own challenge, but will serve as a control

Why Dominos only? Their pizzas are st and they don't deliver to my place. Although there are a dozen decent Pizza places that do.
As a scientific type person I wanted to keep the challenge consistent for all contestants and available in most of the country, therefore a national chain was selected, that and they are the only option where I live.

Given that there is not actual prize I am sure that equal internet kudos could be gained by eating an equivalently sized offering from another supplier.

I did 2 x 9 inch pepperoni pizzas a couple of weeks ago managed to get them both down in just over 5 mins.(including the blisters from the boiling hot tomato lava inside) so 2 x 12 inches in 50 mins.. sounds like a doddle.
As above they are 14" so almost 2.5 times larger, so you would need to be confident of doing 5 9" pizzas to have challenge equivalence.....

I don't feel bloated now 2 hours since finishing eating.

I didn't struggle at all unlike with the deli wrap bit of the McDonalds.

I just ate steadily for 1/2 hour with regular swigs of water to lubricate.
I am in a bit of food related pain, I found this much harder than the McDonald's challenge. With McDonald's I could have eaten a fair bit more, pizzas not so much. I am not even having pudding.

Anyway a lot of people have shown an interest in doing this one so suggest letting it run before IVA sets the next challenge. FWIW I feel quite ill now.

I recently came out of bulk eating retirement to try a 32Oz burger at my local Marstons pub. There was no prize on offer for completing it so I bailed early, mainly because it was not very nice.

Class? You think HRH eats off a panel of wood?

It's just wkerism. "Gastro" pubs serve food on square plates or lumps of wood. fking stupid idea.
Could not agree more. And let's not start on being expected to eat from a slate floor tile
