Probably the best drunken sandwich ever, but fried with sweet chilli mayo.

Last nights food of preference.

The batter ones are nice although they have to be done in the oven.

They have to be white fish fillet fishfingers not the cheap mushed up crap.

Long gone are the cod fishfingers, shame.

Trouble with grilling them is the bread crumb tends to come of the fishfinger and stick to the grate, leaving holes of bare fish.
Not good.

No one else use one of those actifry things? With the rotating arm bit removed. Heats up quickly. Has a timer so you don't have to watch it and does a decent job.
I got one of those ,I'll give that a go.

And make sure the bread is either mega-expensive seedy brown, or cheapest of the cheap chewy white!
And nothing in between?
I quite enjoyed my rolls yesterday.

we had fish fingers for christmas dinner a couple of years ago, as the artisan chicken or whatever from M&S smelt like death when it came out of the package.

Best christmas dinner for years!

cooked in the oven btw
If you ever have that problem with poultry again cut the meat off the carcase and soak it in salt water , the meat will be fine ,it's the carcase that has all the nasty germs then at least you'll have a curry/stir fry from it.
Old trick we did in the butchers shop years ago.
