Get ahead gravy - a bit bland!

Made Jamie Olivers get ahead gravy for the past few years, it's always gone down well with Xmas dinner. Only this years batch tastes a bit meh! I realised I missed the Sage afterwards,. thats all

Bunged it in the freezer for now to defrost nearer the time, any suggestions on getting some extra flavour in it?

Thanks for the ideas chaps, the herb Knorr sounds good, maybe some chicken stock too?....
