I feel undervalued...

As a drinker in most pubs nowadays. I get told of for moaning about these things too much, but it's the little things really... Where has bench seating gone? Why must I sit on an uncomfortable chair table combo? Ditto stools are dissapearing. There is almost nowhere to put your drink nowadays, ledges round pillars are a thing of the past, and pool tables as well. Before anyone says go to a 'real' pub, all these things could be reincorporated for minimal cost. I appreciate the chain pubs are sterile but for lots of reasons are busy. Just as an aside, a new spoons has opened up in an area where lots of old boys used to drink, yet it is totally unwelcoming for them. Why not have a small lounge room for regular drinkers who aren't interested in food? Are these customers unimportant.

I didn't mean literally old men, I mean regular traditional working class (usually) men from 40 onwards who would drink say 3-4 nights a week, cumulatively that's a lot of business, why do the pub chains shun them and increasingly make them feel they are in a restaurant?.

I still don't understand why w'spoons doesn't seem to have enough seating for drinkers or places to put your pint, after all they sell a shed load of ales. I thought the police favoured sit down drinking instead of standing?.
