Deadline has passed, you'll have to wait until next time if you missed it!

Following the success of the PH Whisky tasting last year, we have another for 2015! bounce

The idea is to have a relaxed evening, drinking and chatting whisky with an expert – and a bit of a laugh with like-minded PHers. It doesn't matter if you're a connoisseur or a newbie.

So…

The detailsbiggrin
  • There is a maximum of 20 places in total
  • The cost is £70 per person
  • The tasting is at TWE Vinopolis (The Whisky Exchange) - London Bridge is the nearest tube
  • Wednesday 21 October 2015
  • It starts at 19:30 and typically lasts for around 90 minutes, but they’ll stop a bit longer if you’re really keen to chat

What do I get?
  • An expert to guide you through what you’re sampling
  • 6 drams of single malty whisky aged over 18yo (we’re trying very hard to get something that very few people will have tried)
  • The chance to meet the people you’ve been chatting with for years on PH about whisky!
  • Hopefully learn something and have a good laugh at the same time
  • The opportunity to part with more money to buy whisky (bottles, or pour your own from the cask)
  • Perhaps a bit squiffy… silly
  • If we can get 15 people again, the quality of what we can sample improves!

OK, I’m in - how do I sign up?
  • Send me a PM via PH (preferably with the subject heading “Whisky tasting”) with your real name, so I can contact you!
  • I will reply with bank details in the next few weeks, and you can transfer the money (I don’t do PayPal, sorry)
  • In the event it is more popular than expected, it will be a first come, first served basis. I will maintain a “waitlist” in case someone drops out
  • All bookings and payment MUST be completed to me by Sunday 11 October
  • Your place is not confirmed until you have paid!
  • Wait impatiently until 21 October…

What happened last year?

Please note I have to pay for the entire booking in advance. This means that there is no option for a refund. However, if you cannot make it we may be able to find someone to take your place and get a refund that way.

Hope you can join us...

PAID!
I don't actually need the money until Oct 11, but paying confirms your space smile

Hmmmmmmm.

Put me down then. I'll just have to try and moderate my alcohol intake!
There is a while till payment is required, so you've got some time to think about it. smile

We need 6 as a minimum, and I suspect a few more may sign up - so no problem if you do decide not to come.

Don't think I have enough holiday left to do this, maybe if I shave a day off the Christmas break....
A few people are flying in on the day and heading over, then heading back the day after.

Seems a few of us are staying at the same hotel now too - so anyone who is stopping over, let me know and I'll advise on the hotel.

With a few of us stopping over night I'm now on the lookout for a place for a cheeky hangover fry-up hehe

^^^This.

But I wouldn't bank on ice being available!
Handily, there is a bar within Vinopolis - so we probably can get ice with relative ease.

Looking forward to this chaps! Thanks for organising it Podie thumbup
TWE (The Whisky Exchange) has a shop at Vinopolis - and that's where we'll be!

However, as its attached to Vinopolis, there is a bar at the other side and the eatery mentioned before.

The handy thing, is that being a shop you can buy whisky too - and the other spirits they stock of the mood takes you. In fact, they also have a few barrels where you can fill your own (two sizes of bottle available).

Over a month to go and I'm already looking forward to it!

Bank details sent out this morning to the remaining names on the list (figured it was near payday for a lot of people hehe ).

We can book Burger & Lobster once we have confirmed names. Non-Londoners should be aware it involves a short taxi ride.
