Anyone heard of these?

I saw a video a while back on youtube about the maker Ben. He makes 5 knives a week and sells the at 1pm on a friday. Weve been trying to get one for a few weeks, and managed yesterday to get a small paring knife. :-)

All hand made in Derby

I have 3 knives on order with him. There was a 19 month waiting list when I got on it. Should be ready in time for August 2016...
Blimey.... I dont think he is taking orders at the moment, I emailed him last week to ask. You got in there early by the sounds of it. :-)

He was taking orders but as above stopped taking any more orders in June.

He makes 5 knifes a week and at 1pm on Friday he lists them on the website, fastest finger first. Once you are successful you have 10 minutes to complete the checkout, otherwise it gets released back for sale.

It came.... No expense spent on the packaging. Wrapped in brown paper, in a cardboard tube.

Its bigger than I thought, says 4"on the website but its more like 5" actual size.

Why such a high price? I've just been looking on Japanese Chefs Knives: You can get pairing knives there, made out of uber steels that have been repeatedly folded to give the 'Damascus' look for far less. Japanese labour rates aren't that much different from ours are they, certainly not at the Chinese sweatshop level.
I guess because these are 100% hand made. He only makes a small number of knives, so I suppose thats why he keeps his price high.

I have 2 folded steel knifes (Saiun brand from japanesechefsknives.com) and they are brilliant.
