Anyone else seen these. I've signed up to the pre-order (no money has been sent yet).

It looks like an interesting concept. We have been thinking about a pizza oven for a while but also think we may move house should the opportunity arise so being portable is an

added benefit.

Nice looking bit of kit. Wonder how long it takes to get up to temp from the fire box?

I have a sneaking suspicion it would be a lot of effort for a pizza. Which is fine if its part of the event, like a BBQ.
Website says 15 mins depending on ambient temp and type of fuel being used. Obviously those are some pretty wide variables but it takes 15 mins at least to get my Napoleon gas BBQ up to temp for pizza.

Christmas Update

Hey Roccboxer,
Here's a little festive update to keep you in the loop on our awesome little oven and its availability. We're happy to reveal that our perfectionist (and CEO) Tom Gozney has signed off the products build quality and functionality meaning that the testing phase is officially over!
Although Roccbox is technically signed off we now have to get it certified. This won't be complete before Christmas but this phase is so important we can't skip it. As soon as this process is complete we'll send you a final release date!
Don't worry, if you have pre-ordered you'll know when Roccbox is ready to purchase before the rest of the public and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
We're sorry there won't be any wood-fired Turkey this Christmas but we're doing everything we can to get Roccbox shipped to our hungry customers as quickly as possible, so thanks again for your patience.
From everyone at HQ
Have a lovely Christmas.

Agreed, but you would not need to buy a separate BBQ and you could leave it outside all year.
I think most people in the market for one of these will already own a BBQ of some sort. I would probably swap my gas BBQ and ProQ Smoker for a BGE if I had seen it first but I've got them.

What I think makes this a bit different is that it's a Pizza oven that is WOOD FIRED, PORTABLE and quick.

If the temp achievable by the wood firing is acceptable then the flavour this will impart to the pizza gives it an edge over the BGE. The fact that it can be run on gas is just a bonus

Just "pre-ordered" one

Looks like a great piece of kit but there is already something very similar on the market but can’t recall the name.
This one ?

Thats the one!

Cant decide which I prefer?
For some reason it was the wood pellets that have always put me off ordering one of these. Then again at half the price.....

Just had my Roccbox update and I now have an order allocation of 2nd or 3rd week of September. Still I can have a Pizza just as I am packing everything away and preparing the garden for winter!!

Yes green. Have you seen the Facebook page "Roccbox users (un-official)"? There are some pretty good looking pizzas on there and many comments on the great build quality. Some concerns about getting it hot enough with wood fired but gas attachment looks to be really good.

Daughters birthday on 29th September. Have always got good comments from her friends on my pizzas from the BBQ and a pizza stone so hoping to have it for a week or so to practice with the Roccbox. Hopefully then I can avoid Papa Johns as will be feeding too many for just BBQ method!

Hope you get time this weekend to give yours a good try out!

I emailed Roccbox regarding production of a carry case for it. Something like the insulated cover for the son of hibachi grill where you can put it away not fully cooled. They said they would look into the idea but we're concentrating on production and delivery. I reckon someone could make some money with the idea given how many have sold. Not my area of expertise though!

I started this thread on 8 December 2015. Today I have finally received an email from DPD on behalf of Rocbox to say that my order will be with me tomorrow

Weather forecast does not look good but I am going to order a gazebo from Amazon prime because I am using it tomorrow whatever the circumstances!!

Replacement wood burner doesn't sound too good?

Gas burner has to go back to Roccbox HQ. Doesn't burn straight in the oven. Burns predominantly to one side of the oven leaving the other side virtually flame free. Can't send replacement as don't have any even though they have admitted being aware of the fault in the first batch of ovens.

I am impressed by the rest of it but the shine has gone from the purchase.
