Where do I start, me and the missus uncle have talked about it for a while and now we are seriously looking at giving it a go. We both love our beer and with the cost of the stuff here in Norway this could be a good excuse to make quite a lot of the stuff.

I have a few questions though, after spending a lot of time over the weekend researching stuff on the internet I've now got to the point where I've read and watched so much stuff on YouTube I'm a bit confused. The videos especially, seeing people doing things different and at varying levels of cleanliness.

So the questions......

Which brewing process is best for quality, the malt extract method or the all grain method?

We're looking at something like this http://www.brewshop.no/produkt/utstyr/bryggemaskiner/grainfather-bryggemaskin-1/grainfather-bryggemaskin-30-l the Grain father 30 and this http://www.brewshop.no/produkt/startsett-for-olbrygging/startsett-deluxe it might seem as though it's expensive as some starter kit but this is something we're definitely looking at keeping at so don't mind spending the money of good equipment.

I'm a bit confused at what equipment we should really start with, aside from the bottling stuff is the stuff I've linked to above the correct kit or not?

Recommendations on books, recipe websites and any other general tips would be amazing!

Thanks all. Will sign up to the above and have a gander.

I think we'll probably jump straight into the all grain as we've got around £800- £1k to spend on equipment and I've got quite a bit of time to spare (and no kidsbiggrin ) so am happy to invest time aswell.

Surprisingly the cost of equipment isn't too dissimilar to the cost of what it is in the UK and with the cost of beer here in Norway this is a sound investment that's eventually going to save us quite a bit of money.
