Bit of fun here. Took my mum out for a dim sum lunch on Sunday with my sisters and their partners. Six of us in total. Mid level chinese restaurant in Chinatown, Manchester. No drinks apart from copious pots of chinese tea and two lemonades.

This is what we had:

Dim Sum:
Har Gao
Scallop dumplings
2 Siu Mai
Steamed pork rib ends
2 Char Siu Bao
Deep fried squid
Deep Fried Wontons
Spring Rolls
Prawn Cheung Fun

1/4 Crispy Duck with pancakes
Peking Ribs
3 Roasted meats and rice
Fried Ho Fun with beef and beansprouts

I go regularly and am recognised by the staff. 15% discount for paying cash and no service charge levied.

By the way, the food was excellent. That's coming from a picky oriental with and even pickier mother.

£80.

I thought it was a bit of a bargain.

Pearl City. Above Soames Casino just off from the Arch.

Very good dim sum. The benefit there is that they have the chinese menu printed in English.

If you're a meat eater, try the 3 roast meats and rice. Char siu pork, roast duck and crispy pork belly with steamed pak choi served on top of rice. A big meal on it's own. Can also be served with a couple of dim sum kicker's if you're extra hungry...
