Ok, after a quick discussion between TomE and myself, we have decided on the two ingredients for the next round.

They are :

Duck and Egg

BOTH ingredients should be used in your dish... it's not a choice between the two!

We think there's a good range of things that can be done with duck, and of course eggs can be used in many, many ways, so get inventive! Combine the two, accompany one with the other... or I suppose you could kill two birds with one stone and just do a duck egg...!

Oh yes... and please note that "egg" is not restricted to hens/ducks, which should really open things up smile

Usual rules, three photos max. Entries should be in by the end of Monday April 4th (so you have two full weekends), and voting will run from the Tuesday until midnight on Friday.

To be honest I am not a fan of these two ingredients comps which is why I skipped a lot of the early rounds. I prefer one ingredient and play around with that.
Egg is an easy one though, as so many things contain egg already... pasta/noodles for example.

worked out a recipe yesterday. The problem now is finding some duck at a reasonable price - $38/kg seems a bit steep for supermarket quality.
Wow, that is expensive! works out at £24.32/kg. Even fillet steak is less than that here (£23.98/kg)...

Tesco prices here...

Duck breast fillets : £17.64/kg (AU$28.45)
Duck legs : £5.42/kg (AU$8.74)

Well entries are now closed, but unfortunately I appear to be either totally inept, or totally unable to create a poll (being inept is the most likely candidate!!)

Just in case Calibrax doesn’t mosey on through, would anyone with the necessary powers be able to start one in the usual fashion please?!

Thanks!! thumbup
Yes, if someone could I'd appreciate it... been crazy busy with work, hence why I haven't had chance to enter the competition myself! Just popped in while I wait for a report to run. Was working until 2am, got a couple of hours sleep, and was back in the office at 6.20am... see, accountancy IS fun! banghead
