On my own in the house earlier, I decided to rifle through my CDs for one to play loud whilst my wife was out. I chose Ten by Pearl Jam as I'd not listened to the full album for years, and sort of remembered that every track was a good 'un.

Sadly not. Most of the tunes are very strong, but there are a couple I don't get on with and it got me thinking.

Clarkson once said that Who's Next is the only album where he enjoys every single tune on it. So I thought of some of my favourite albums:

Rust In Peace
Vs
Texas Flood
Superunknown
Black Sabbath
Paranoid
Deep Purple In Rock
Led Zep II
Led Zep IV
Trespass
Foxtrot

I love all the above albums dearly, but they all have at least one track that's a bit - for me - average, let's say.

There is one, though, where - hand on heart - I can say I really like every single track :

So, what's your "failsafe" album? That one where every track for you is as good as the next?

Fantastic shout.

Also agree about Appetite for Destruction, but must disagree with OP about PJ Ten wink
Don't get me wrong, Ten is very much on a pedestal for me and the great tunes on it are very great indeed (of which your user name BTW is my favourite track on the album). It's just that tracks like Oceans and Garden leave a bit underwhelmed.

I had another blast of Led Zep I again earlier, and it really does tick all the boxes for me.

AC/DC; Back in Black
Bob Marley; Legend
Art of Noise; Best of...

I know they are compilations but can listen to them all without the urge to skip a track.
Exactly what I was trying to get across in my OP!

Nom de Ploom mentioned Peace Sells.... by Megadeth; I do enjoy it, helped in no short measure by Chris Poland's jazz-tinged lead work. Rust In Peace, though, trumps it for production / relentless controlled aggression / DM's technical rhythm work (which is leagues ahead of his work on PSBWB) / Friedman's modal soloing.

IMVHO.

ETA : I thought Back In Black was a stand-alone album, not a compilation? Not that it matters; it's a copper-bottomed classic as far as I'm concerned.

Agree with some of the others, Rust in Peace is perfect, as is Seventh Son. Pink Floyd Wish you were here?
A wonderful album, tainted (for me) by Have A Cigar which is my "skip-the-track" tune. Much like DSOM : great tunes, sublime musicianship, inspired lyrics. Apart from On The Run which is like a spoonful of sewage in a bucketful of wine so to speak.

I'm surprised Dark Side of the Moon hasn't had more love on this forum. Normally gets a lot of love.
Oh it's a permanent fixture on the autochanger in the car. But On The Run has always been a "skipper" for me.
