Saw a friend at the weekend, and he offered me a spare ticket to see Blondie at The Roundhouse on 16 Sep. Free and gratis!

Can't wait. Saw them about 4 yrs ago at Kenwoood House and they were great.

Having had a friend get me a Kate Bush ticket, and now this, I'm on a roll.

I don't believe in karma in the literal sense, some ridiculous supernatural power punishing te bad and rewarding the good. That's nonsense.

But in general terms, if you try and be nice to people and help them out if you can, then nice things are more likely to happen to you. More drug dealers will get shot at work than surgeons.

Perhaps this is my reward for trying to be a half decent human being.

Or maybe you're right, and I'm just lucky!

What a gig. The Roundhouse is probably my favourite live venue, it's just superb.
Kicked off with Chrissie Hynde, now t 63, face of a 40 y/o on the body of a 19 y/o. What a great performer.

Then Blondie. Debbie is 69 now, lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years, but seems a bit unsteady on her feet. Think Mrs Overall in Acorn Antiques. And the nylon blonde wig was a bit sad. The voice has gone too. But for all that, you can't fault her for effort. All the old favourites, getting the crowd going, absolutely tremendous.

Kate Bush could learn a lot from these two. This is what we want. Not a bit of dry ice, helicopters or stupid special effects to be seen. Just musicians playing music. Brilliant night out.

I saw Blondie on their first UK tour in '77 I think it was, in Sheffield supporting Television (now there is a great band).
I have to say they were pretty good, & Debbie looked absolutely amazing, but it was because I had seen them at their peek I didn't want to see them now.
I saw them in the 70s as well. I looked better then too.
