Hi chaps. I've developed a worrying desire to add a resonator to my collection. I tried to deal with this by buying a mid-price one from Amazon, but it was frankly nasty for the price and is going back.

Can anyone recommend a good resonator in the £400-£600 bracket? Or suggest good sources of decent second hand ones? Not interested in playing the eBay game as frankly I don't know enough about the different types to avoid getting caught out.

Ta.

You'd think that, but http://www.resonatorguitarguide.com/fender-fr50-re... suggests very much otherwise. Hence my confusion and hope of personal recommendations.

That's a lovely looking thing.
I'm nervous of that brand as the one I'm sending back is a Regal RD30. For £250 I don't expect gaps in the paint on the fingerboard edge, scratched chrome where the pattern was punched out of the top plate and a really dead sound without any real twang to it. Maybe I just got a dud?

I've already got a Stellar kit to build a double neck FV. The kit needs the neck pockets re routing, and only has space for two switches when three are needed. It will get done one day, but was hardly ready to assemble as claimed.

But that's an aside. Having tried one owned by the guy who runs my local guitar shop, I've got a Washburn R360K on order. Pics on the relevant thread when it arrives...
