At the gym today I heard a song that sounded like Ace of Base style, but with more modern (almost trancey) style sounds. Vocals were female and quite soft. I couldn't quite make out the words or I'd have Googled them when I got home. It wasn't 'Alejandro' by Lady Gaga. Any ideas?

Doesn't sound like Little Boots. It has that distinctive Ace of Base lead synth sound that they use to play their lead riffs, but the singer has a softer voice and the other backing synth sounds are more up-to-date. I'll have to try to note down some of the lyrics next time I hear it so I can Google it or note down whatever song plays after it and then ask on the gym's reception if they have a playlist.

Can you not Shazam it next time you hear it?
I don't usually take my phone into the gym with me as I've nowhere convenient to keep it, but I guess I could do. I'm off this afternoon so we'll see what happens!

I've reconstructed the main hook in Logic Pro. Have a listen!

NB. The actual song may be in a different key! Maybe one of soundclouds's bots will recognise it and send me an e-mail threatening legal action, citing the original track!

Incidentally, I've tried playing my interpretation of it into Shazam, but to no avail, and it hasn't been played at the gym again since I started taking my phone in with me.

Not that one, but again, thanks!

The lead riff in the short piece that I've cobbled together and put on soundcloud is exactly how it is in the song, as are the underlying chords.
