Thinking about an acoustic and slide....

Been toying with the idea of buying a steel strung acoustic and (trying to) play some slide bluesy stuff.
Never tried before and not that good on electric either, but enjoy playing.
Quite like simple strumming stuff like Oasis at times, as well as some Frank Turner
Looking at something like the Epi DR100
Waste of time/money/effort?
