Another couple for me. An accoustic set from The Farm at a little place ran by Alan McGee, 100 tickets only, little weekend break to look forward to and a gig a bit closer to home, Ocean colour scene, shed 7, bluetones in Leeds!

That takes me to 10 booked for first half of 2016.

January - Rick Witter/Paul Banks (shed 7), Chris Helme (seahorses), Mark Morris(bluetones) @ fibbers, York
February - The Farm @ The Tabernacle, Talgarth
March - Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott @ Hull City Hall and Royal Albert Hall
April - Bellowhead @ Nottingham Royal concert Hall
May - James @ Leeds arena and Hull city hall
June - Stone Roses @ Etihad stadium
June - Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott @ Sherwood pines, forestry commission gig
July - Ocean Colour Scene, Shed 7, bluetones @ Leeds Millennium Square

I spotted that Travis are playing the tiny Bournemouth O2, which is always a good venue, in May, so I've booked my daughter and I a ticket each.

I'm not a huge fan, but I find their stuff pretty likeable, so it should be fun!

M.
I like Travis, wouldn't have minded seeing them myself, however, the only date and location I could do is Leeds on the 14th of May and typically, I'm seeing James the same evening, also in Leeds!!

Had a quick trip to Leeds today to a signing session with James, promoting their new album, (girl at the end of the world, very good, go try it) and was treated to an impromptu bit of busking from Tim and Saul, before the signing. Great guys, happy to have a little chat and a few pics. Looking forward to May to seeing them live again.

Sorry to quote my own post, however, James, of whom I am a big fan, are currently well placed to score their first number one album in 18 years, for a band that has been around for 35 years, I think its great going.

If anyone hasn't listened to it, streamed it or bought it, please take a look. It would be great to give the underdog something to cheer about by knocking the juggernaut of miserableness that is Adele off top spot, if even only for a week!

Sitting!
I was standing. Really good night, enjoyed it a lot. Shame Jacqui was struggling so much. Good couple of days in London as well.

Going to see James tonight in Newcastle. Seen them a few times over the years including Alton Towers.

Just done a YouTube search on the support act and I'm liking their stuff so far too. The Slow Readers Club. Should be a good night.
How was it? Saw them in Leeds last Saturday and again in Hull on Monday night.

Set list from Saturday. Didnt grab a Monday list, but similar.

I saw James at Kentish Town Forum the other Friday, band great but far too many lairy pissed tts there - it's a crap venue in terms of accessibility to the lower floor, just one narrow staircase each side, so everyone gets a bit aggro pushing their way down there.

You must be a member of the 'One Fan Clapping' James fan group on Facebook? There a tribe of setlist anoraks on there - I mean that as a compliment! smile
I am, although I'm not specifically a James fan, some of those that post on there are obsessive!

Not in Leeds or Hull. We got the offer in Hull on the final song of sit down or say something and the crowd voted for say something which was refreshing, normally most crowds are baying for sit down, despite James being thoroughly pissed of with playing it!!

Ah, the OLD audience! biggrin

Heaton, apparently was taken to task for mentioning that Glastonbury's audience was younger than their usual one and in London explained he didn't mean us, because we all looked so young, it was "That lot in Sherwood Forest!" biggrin

I really enjoyed them at Somerset House both for their performance and the venue (as mentioned elsewhere).

Ha ha ha, I suppose when you've been knocking records out for over 30 years, the crowd grow old with you. I'm 39 so not sure I'm in the old group just yet!
