Ritchie Blackmore Rainbow Concerets 2016
Discussion
Was delighted to hear that for probably the last time Mr Blackmore was returning to rock.
Also thought it good that he was going to use new people in the Rainbow line up
Ronnie Romero on vocals. Now it may be that the new vocalist upsets people but personally I think some vocalists are past their prime. David Coverdales recent Purple Album was a great listen but showed the ravages of time.
Even Ritchie makes a reference to ageing in some of the interviews (though you never know with him whether he is joking or not) citing "athritis"

Purple/ Rainbow/ Zeppelin/ Whitesnake etc were all important parts of my youth and a lot of that music is still very important to me now

It is still VERY Ritchie Blacknore style and its amazing how his style is so very identifiably him.

I saw Ritchie several times in the early seventies, both with Deep Purple Mk 2 and 3, and one thing puzzles me....
Why he has twice as much thick dark hair now as he had in 1974?
If you think about it you may tWIG the answer. Why he has twice as much thick dark hair now as he had in 1974?
One thing that struck me as well is that as guitarists get older the guitars get that much higher. I noticed this as well with New Orders set from Glastunbury.
Either way Ritchies stuff has been with me on and off since 1975 and I thank him for that.
Some of the German material has now been released on DVD and CD

I have the CD and its not as bad as you might think or as good as I had hoped but it has a very good version of Stargazer on it and there is some intricate typical Blackmore guitar work throughout.
