Used to love Dire Straits back in 'the day'. Money For Nothing, Telegraph Road, Sultans of Swing - classics that I still listen to occasionally.

Earlier this year someone put this video into the youtube thread, mainly (presumably) because it's got some nice cars in it.

It's a short trailer (I suppose you'd call it) for Mark Knopfler's latest - 'Tracker'. 'I quite like that' I thought, so I bought it.

Very different to 'Money For Nothing' (for example), but crikey, it's good. Some of the songs just flow over you like warm honey. I had it on my iPhone during a long overnight flight to Dubai. Having done a couple of movies and unable to sleep I put it on and just melted into it - played it right through twice and time flew. Absolutely love it.

So I've bought a few more of his recent stuff: All The Roadrunning, Golden Heart, Shangri-La, Sailing To Philadelphia, Privateering. None quite hit the spot that Tracker does but they're blimmin close and blimmin good, just a lovely lovely sound. Got Shangri-La on now.

Funny really, if it hadn't have been for that video clip I'd be non the wiser that he was even still making music.

Makes me wonder what else is out there that I have no idea exists.
