I'm not talking about a fan of hardcore dance music, he hates that.

A much loved colleague is leaving us soon and his main passion in life is listening to and appreciating music in all it's forms (not techno/hardcore). He goes to gigs a few time a week, goes to glasto every year and has done for the last 30 odd years. He runs a website for this stuff if anyone's interested.

http://quims.org/

It's almost a blog/stream of consciousness about gigs, bands and music in general, authored by him and a few of his pals.

We need to buy him a leaving present and wer're fingind it hard. Budget is about £100-150 I think. Current thinking is a build you own guitar kit I can't help thinking that would be a bit crap though. I know he plays a bit and doesn't have a leccy guitar though.

Any ideas??

How about a fake Music Festival poster with him as the headliner and listing all his work colleagues as the support acts. You could list different department like the different stages, and have the event date as his date of leaving?
That is a fantastic idea. But would need some artistic flare. I'm not sure I could knock up a decent poster with power point.

Are there any graphic designs bods in here that want a commission??

All brilliant ideas that I'm obviously taking the credit for now smile

I think we are going to rip off/copy a Glasto poster and stick all our names on, plus some work based terminology to fill it out. Also the waveform from a song poster is also looking likely too. Rest of the cash will be going toward his new turntable fund.
